Hi. I'm new here. You can also find me here. (if you are on ravelry) Thought I'd attempt to post at SOME point in the first week of 2009 to officially set the resolutions for the year, and also, quite frankly, to get this party started. Here's the thing: I work with kids. Silly kids. CLINICALLY silly kids. These kids say hilarious things. Here is an example from my friend BR: "Nicole, your New Year's Revolution should be to eat at McDonald's every day. You need to get some meat in your bones." Sadly, I do not think I will take BR's advice, but here are my goals for this year:
1. Start a blog. It will be a blog about a New Englander, who lives in NYC, and talks about her awesome clients (without breaking confidentiality, because she is a professional), and about the things she makes of yarn, and the things she makes of food (Seriously, what kind of person has that as a resolution? Me).
2. Apply to grad school (this has like 4 parts. Part 1 is take the GRE's. The rest will follow later).
3. Finish all knitting projects unless they are crap. Frog the crap as soon as you're onto its crappy little scheme.
4. Make some lace.
5. Do some fancy yarny colorwork.
6. Build up that side project where you help kids at home.
7. Think of clever business name for that side project where you help kids at home.
8. Think about the usual 4 resolutions: de-clutter, eat better, get more exercise, and try to put your bitch away.
I feel 8 is enough, don't you?
So. #1- Initiated and ongoing
#3- Working on custom pattern sweater that is to be worked on immediately after this post.
#6- On first steps of developing paperwork/procedures. Active kiddo count: 1. Waiting kiddo count: 3ish.
#7- This part is not easy, but will come to me in a jolt while I am brushing my teeth.
#8- I'm totally thinking about them right now.
